This book was excellent but felt like only 3/4 of the story. I started getting stressed at the end when I realized there were only a few pages left - why did she end it where she did? Reading the author's note after the abrupt ending made it feel more like a history lesson than an immersive reading experience. She could have had both by adding a few more chapters.
I thought that I would love this book but the glaring plot holes made it difficult for me to suspend disbelief. :-(
I gave this book four stars the first time I read it. I really enjoyed the story but the writing was repetitive and it would probably be better if it were a couple hundred pages shorter. I still liked the story, but listening to the audiobook made the repetitive elements tedious. Three stars for the audiobook.
